"`I Do and I Understand': The Development and Use of Interactive Exhibits in Science Museums as Tools for Learning"

In modern science museums the visitors actively participate in the exploration of natural phenomena and technological devices. We will examine--with plenty of examples--the criteria for development of interactive exhibits as well as the pedagogical thrust of this educational enterprise. Extensions of this approach beyond museum walls will also be discussed.
