2007 Research Project: Binding Experiment of Microtubule and Tau Proteins

The primary focus of my experiment was understanding Neural Tau and Microtubule interactions specifically, for purposely elucidating the role of Neural Fibral Tangles (NFT’s) in Alzheimer’s patients and other related dementia’s. At this point we will answer to the question “What % of tau protein binds to MTs?” at physiological state. There are 6 isoforms of tau (3RL,3RM,3RS,4RS,4RM,4RL), and the first one we characterized is the 3RS using polymerization and uv/ vis procedures.

2008 Curriculum Project: Biology standard based introductory labs

In view of the trend to create curriculum that is standard based, this project, focuses on Oxnard Union High School District Biological sciences Standards and creating Single lesson Laboratory Experiments to directly target the standard and meet primary objectives that will ensure complete student understanding of the concept/s at hand.
