What makes chemistry exciting is the chance to make something new! This is the heart of my graduate career. I am currently focused on uncovering unseen hybrid inorganic/organic materials which incorporate novel organic cations into heavy metal halide complexes (Pb-I, Sn-I). By using inherently functional organic cations I hope to embue and amplify useful properties within these materials (stability, conductivity, light absorption).
