In response to the recent natural disasters, the Vice Chancellor of Administrative Services has provided the some very helpful information in regards to obtaining information as to the status of the campus during emergency situations. In addition to the information provided below, individuals who do NOT have a voice mail box may call the campus information number at 805/893-8000 to obtain a status report. Please note, this number may be overwhelmed during an emergency situation.
1. ACCESSING ZOOM VOICE MAIL (for persons with Zoom Phone Numbers)
During emergencies, we will be sending status reports to campus voice mail boxes as well as to local broadcast media. To access your voice mail from off campus, use the Zoom app and sign in with your UCSBnetID.
2. ROADS
Conditions of Santa Barbara County roads can be obtained by calling 568-3044.
Conditions of California Roads can be obtained by calling 1-800-427-ROAD.
When this number is answered, the automatic system requests your route. Enter the highway number (e.g., 101) for which you wish information followed by "#".
3. MEDIA
The following are the public media stations to which we provide campus status:

KTMS, AM 1250
KUHL, AM 1440 (in Santa Maria, for North County Commuters)
KVEN, AM 1450 (in Ventura, for Commuters from the south)
4. ELECTRONIC MAIL
The email will be used periodically to inform the campus community of emergency conditions. Departments should have at least two individuals on the departmental email list maintained by Human Resources. This will help ensure that someone will be available to distribute information to departmental staff, faculty, and students.
5. GENERAL
Conditions will often change during storms more rapidly than can be communicated by emergency agencies. You are advised not to attempt travel if you believe there are hazardous conditions on your route to the campus.
