Rheology
The Rheometer measures stress and strain of fluids under deformation, & can calculate viscoelastic properties.
polymer melts, hydrogels, adhesives, thermosets, UV sensitive coatings
Measurements
The TA Instruments ARES-G2 Rheometer applies wide ranges of stress, strain, and frequency in a controlled environment to measure material flow properties like modulus, viscosity, and elasticity.
Instrument
Available Accessories:
- Forced Convection Oven (FCO) with LN2 cooling: -150 °C to 600 °C. Available in 8mm or 25mm parallel plate configuration, SS or aluminum. A 25mm cone is also available.
- Advanced Peltier System (APS): Offers highly accurate temperature control -10 °C to 150 °C, 20°C/min heating rate for hydrogels and low viscosity materials. Available geometries: parallel plates (40mm, 50mm Titanium), 40mm 2° cone and plate, immersion cup, solvent trap.
- UV Curing Accessory : Omnicure S2000 UV light source (320-500nm) measures storage and loss moduli during curing reactions.
- Extensional Viscosity Fixture (EVF): measures extensional stress of highly viscous materials under constant rate uniaxial extension (Hencky strains up to 4.0, up to 350°C with FCO)
